Join former Toronto City Manager Joe Pennachetti in conversation with Matt Galloway, host of CBC Radio 99.1 FM’s Metro Morning. With 35 years of municipal financial management experience, Mr. Pennachetti will reflect on his career in the public service and share his thoughts on the challenges of policymaking for cities. Among other topics, Mr. Pennachetti will reflect on how Toronto’s fiscal health and provincial-local relations have changed over the course of his career, the impact of the Toronto amalgamation, and the relationship between city council and the civil service.
This event will be co-sponsored by the Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance (IMFG) and the School of Public Policy and Governance (SPPG) at the University of Toronto.
